Chuck Newton has hit the nail on the head again with his post called, I Think It Is Fear.
Chuck brings up one of the reasons for not putting your office in your home, FEAR. And he is also right when he says it is a mindset issue. While I usually don’t agree with Chuck on political issues. We tend to almost agree on issues surrounding the home office.

Martindale-Hubbell's value to Solos?
Kevin O’Keefe at Lexblog had a post today called, Martindale-Hubbell’s value to law firms in steep decline.
Quite frankly I have never really thought M&H provided any value to the solo. Perhaps its only value would be to the good old boy network.
Publishing a well designed and maintained blog will do a Solo more good and give you a higher return on your investment than wasting money on a listing in M&H.
If you have a different take on the value provided to the Solo, please enlighten me.
Bankruptcy Software For Your Mac? Good Luck!
So I’ve been a Mac user for about 60 days now, and I have to admit that the ride is pretty good. Unfortunately, it isn’t perfect. You see, I’m a consumer bankruptcy attorney. We’re a lonely group of people, wandering from place to place in search of desktop applications to help us draft our bankruptcy petitions. Sadly, the software publishers have forsaken us.
Now, that’s not to say that there isn’t case management software available for the Mac. For consumer bankruptcy attorneys there is an excellent platform-independent application known as MyThirdWave, marketed by yours truly. For those who prefer to be bound by their desktop in a closed environment, there’s Daylite – a program I have yet to try but which receives glowing reviews from many in the Mac universe.
What I’m talking about it honest-to-goodness petition preparation software. The big kids – BestCase, Bankruptcy 2007, Bankruptcy Pro, EZ-Filing and the rest – have all turned their faces away from the growing legion of Mac users and opted to produce Windows-only versions of their software. And though Windows retains the lion’s share of the market for these products, don’t they know that 8.8% of the notebook market is now taken up by machines with little glowing apples on them? And that number is growing by leaps and bounds?
Apparently not. So below are a number of links for you to use to tell the software vendors that you demand a Mac version of their product. Even if you don’t use a Mac (and I know many of you who do not), it doesn’t hurt to show solidarity with your colleagues and ask for your vendor to expand their product offerings. If enough of us join in, the noise will be too loud for them to ignore.

Looking For A Phone Number?
I just got turned onto Google SMS, yet another handy device from our friends in Mountain View, CA. It’s a great way to get 411 information from your cell phone without having to sit on the phone and wait for those annoying directory assistance folks to give you information that turns out to be incorrect most of the time anyway.
In less than 20 seconds, you will get a full “411″ type listing of the business, the phone number address, etc.
Are You Selling Ham For Chanukah?

Ever wonder what a business owner was thinking? Well, this one ranks up there with the best of the best. The business was evidently trying to help the Kosher customers by pointing out meals that would appeal to a family-centric holiday such as Chanukah. Unfortunately, nobody bothered to tell the genius in merchandising that ham isn’t something that Kosher folks can eat.
And before you come to the defense of the store owner, this photo was taken at a high-end store in New York City, where people are pretty savvy about multicultural needs.
What does this have to do with consumer bankruptcy attorneys? It comes down to the need to know who your prospects are, and all about their needs, before going out and trying to serve them. So next time you go out and change the magazines in the waiting room, ask yourself whether your prospects will find the reading material interesting or whether you’re looking for a dumping ground for your old bar journals.
Windows Releases Vista SP1 RC
Microsoft has released Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Release Candidate to the public. Windows Vista users can download the package and preview the software now, but remember that’s just a release candidate and not the final service pack.
The release candidate won’t work after June 30, 2008, and you’ll need to uninstall it in order to install the final version of Windows Vista SP1 when it is released in first quarter of 2008.
But if you’re one of the poor souls who got hoodwinked into installing Vista and now wish you could toss your computer off the side of a very tall building, it may help.
iPhones Becoming More Popular With Businesses
Two articles were published last week that discuss how the iPhone is gaining marketshare with businesses.’ These articles acknowledge that the iPhone is a viable (some would say superior) option to the Blackberry, Palm, etc., which have been popular for many years.’ If you have not already gotten an iPhone for yourself, you may want to check out these articles:
