Hi there - thanks for coming back to visit! While you're here, why not sign up for the Legal Practice Pro Newsletter?
Carolyn Elefant, the source for this post, gives us the heads up on another paperless law office in her post, “The Paperless Solo”.
The article on the bizjournals.com website is about Adam Spence’s office. Adam has the typical law office with one big exception, he only has one filing cabinet. He stores all his client’s files in one handle place, his computer. He scans all documents and stores them on his network.
Spence states that the paperless system increases his firm’s productivity by saving time. It would appear Adam also enjoys the fact that when he shows up for a hearing or disposition, he walks in with his computer. While opposing counsel may come in with those big boxes and files full of paper.
Like many firms that use the paperless, Spence also had to purchase a scanner. In my own office I use a Scansnap. Low cost and very effective.
If any of you have your own paperless stories, post a comment and maybe we can get a series going on the paperless law office.
