I am honored to let you know that I’ll be joining the faculty of Solo Practice University, teaching attorneys all about consumer bankruptcy law.
As you know, in addition to being a marketing consultant I also practice bankruptcy law in New York. I decided to join SPU because lawyers don’t – until now – have the opportunity to really get their hands dirty and learn the practical aspects of any particular field of law. When we are expelled from the womb of law school we are baby lawyers, knowing nothing but what was in our textbooks.
Learning how to do stuff, and do it right . . . well, that’s another story entirely.
Solo Practice University, an online educational community for lawyers and law students, launches next month.
I will be teaching a minimum of six one-hour, online sessions, plus I will be available for faculty hours.
If you’re new to the world of bankruptcy or have already been practicing it in some tall building law firm . . . if you’ve been a bankruptcy lawyer for a decade and want to spread your wings by learning the advanced stuff . . . whatever the situation, I’m going to be there to help you through it.
Not just the simple Chapter 7 v. Chapter 13 debate (though I’ll be there to put it all under a microscope for you), but also complex issues such as violations of the automatic stay and discharge injunction, lien stripping, exemptions and pre-bankruptcy planning . . . it’s all in there.
Bottom line: this is the real deal.
So grab your notebooks. Class will soon be in session.

Hi Jay,
I have been reading your information about the course that you will be instructing attorneys about. I am a virtual bankruptcy assistant and I have a couple of attorneys that has corresponded with me concerning wanting to open up a bankruptcy practice. Do you have some information that I could forward on to them about your course. Also I am interested in being able to receive Bankruptcy Pro News, is it possible for me to sign up to receive that newsletter even though I am not an attorney.
Thank you.
Pam
