Microsoft will cease support for the Mac version of Internet Explorer from December 31 and stop development of the program, the company says on its website.
No further security or enhancement updates will be provided.
The initial announcement was made in June 2003.
Microsoft said it would also stop offering downloads of IE for the Mac from its Mactopia site on January 31, 2006.
Macintosh users were advised to migrate to “more recent” web browsers such as Apple’s Safari.
All I have to say about this is GOOD!!!!!! The further I can get away from the Dark Sith Lord, Darth Gates, the better.
I use Safari and Firefox as my browsers.

I also use Firefox and Safari. It is a pity that Microsoft will stop development on a Mac version of IE. There are still a number of sites which don’t work as well when viewed using Firefox and Safari. At the same time, IE for Mac isn’t exactly a state of the art browser.
