Found this interesting website this evening while reading through my RSS feeds. Home Office Voice, voice of an internet entrepreneur. Got wind of the site while looking at the Blog Herald. At the Blog Herald, it was pointed out that the Home Office Voice suggested that if you have a home based business, you should have a blog. Some of his choice quotes:
“But as a home-based business owner, should I have a blog? To put it bluntly, if you conduct any part of your business over the internet, then Yes, you should have a blog….So why should your home-based business have a blog? Will it benefit me? The truth is, a blog is just one part of your marketing strategy, although it can quite easily end up being the most valuable and cost-effective way of marketing your business to new and existing clients. Come to see your blog as a means of getting closer to your intended market. With a blog, you are giving your home business a personality. You are chatting informally with your market and building that much sought after long-term relationship and trust.”
I could not agree more. If you have a home based business, whether it is a professional service firm or an internet based business, you should have a blog. In my own law practice, I have stopped all other advertising and only use my blog, Kansas Family and Divorce Lawyer. I get great response from my blog and best of all, I am getting quality clients. I do no yellow page ads now at all.
So should you have a blog, I think you are crazy if you don’t. Can I say that, of course I can. Do some research, look into it. If you keep an open mind about marketing, you will see the huge benefits of blogging. It is not a large time commitment. In fact, not only will you enjoy it, you will find you are better informed by doing it.
