I created MyThirdWave after realizing how poorly existing practice management “solutions” worked for our unique type of work. I found myself paying thousands of dollars for features I’d never use, and adding on costs every year for some “upgrade” that made it more difficult to do my job. Not only that, but I was forced to buy additional licenses each time I added a staff member.
So I hired the best programmers I could find, and gave them a mandate to create the best solution possible. Then, when it was done I personally tested MyThirdWave in my own office for over two years. Only after surviving the mad rush leading up to October 17, 2005 was I confident enough to expand the system to allow others to use it. After all, what better guinea pig than a consumer bankruptcy attorney?
Unfortunately, the system wasn’t as good as I thought. The user interface wasn’t that clean, it was difficult to adapt to larger practices. And it showed up before people were ready to work in the cloud.
So I killed it. Maybe someday it will live on … maybe not. But until some time in the future, MyThirdWave, RIP.
