A new generation of supersonic private jets could trigger a boom in luxury high-speed flight — without the sonic boom normally associated with breaking the sound barrier. This thing will cost a fortune.
The FutureLawyer started a new resource as an alternative for traveling, LegalNetTourist. This would be a “place where we can all meet at a virtual water cooler, and tell each other about the cool virtual places we have visited.”
My point is this. Do we really need a jet we can go from N.Y. to L.A. in two hours in? With the technology we have today, would it not be better to do as many meetings with the internet and webcams as we can? I have been using Skype some recently to visit with different people. Works great and it is very cheap if not free. And if you have a webcam or an Apple iSight, you can do video conferences. Which brings up another point, if you do use a Mac and you have an iSight and Tiger OS, you can have a video conference with more than one person at a time.
The tools are out there and we should be using them. Sure, it would be difficult to do a deposition without actually being there. But, there are a number of times we could handle business and never leave the office.
