Tab Mix Plus For Firefox Does Not Play Well With Skype

The first extension/add-on that I always install for Firefox is Tab Mix Plus. This Firefox extension allows me to switch between my current tab and a recent tab without “scrolling” through every tab.

For example, if I have 6 tabs open and I’m currently viewing Tab 3, I can hold down Ctrl and hit the Tab key to go to the tab 5 (and release.) To go back to Tab 3, I simply need to quickly hit “ctrl+tab” in one swift move and I’m back on Tab 3.

Recently, it stopped working and would just cycle through each tab in chronological order. Furthermore, I could not view the options menu for Tab Mix Plus. After much googling, I found the culprit:

Tab Mix Plus does not play well with the recent Skype add-on for Firefox. Therefore, to continue using Tab Mix Plus you will need to discontinue use of the Skype For Firefox add-on.

Tab Mix Plus Manages Firefox Tabbed Viewing Effectively

My self-diagnosed ADHD, which apparently only manifests itself in web browsing, usually gets me into tabbed browsing problems. Ever since I discovered the beauty of tabbed browsing in Firefox, I’ve found that I end up browsing too much.

The problem is not my browsing addiction, it’s the 17 tabs that I inevitably open.

Searching for the right tab after they’ve run off the right side of my screen is a pain.

But I just found the solution. Tab Mix Plus enhances Firefox’s tab browsing capabilities. It includes such features as duplicating tabs, controlling tab focus, tab clicking options, undo closed tabs and windows, plus much more. It also includes a full-featured session manager.

All you have to do is point your cursor on the tab bar and start scrolling with your mouse wheel! It smoothly rolls through each page you have. You can go forwards OR backwards.

You must check it out if you’re a Firefox user.

But if you’re a tabbed browsing fool like me, Tab Mix Plus is truly one of the coolest Firefox Addons to date.
