In order to answer this question, I am once again going to take advantage of Kevin O’Keefe at lexBlog. Kevin has a great post on "What is RSS?"
He explains that RSS or Really Simple Syndication is an XML – based format for news content distribution. It is simple, fast, and light on your bandwidth. It does NOT require you to even visit a blog website unless you are interested in a particular headline and its summary. It empowers you to read and find the news you want.
Kevin goes on to list some of the newsreaders you can choose from. I myself use NewNewsWire Pro since I use a Mac. However there are others.
For more information, go to the link above and read the rest of Kevin’s post.
